My Thrifty Finds!

What a fun Saturday I had out garage sale-ing! I hit a teacher's garage sale bright & early and was able to score a number of books for Camille, as well as some organizational stuff for our Learning Room. No pics of that stuff.

At her sale, I bought this great birdcage for TWO dollars - yay! I've been wanting one for awhile and it's perfect! Thought it would go above the kitchen cabinets, but it's a bit big for that space. Not to worry.....she'll find a home soon.

There were some other odds & ends that I picked up - black double-matted frames for 30 cents each, a cobalt spoon rest, an outfit for Lily, but the real score was these finials. I spent a bit more than I normally would at a garage sale. Ten bucks. But, there were seven of them (the tallest is about 22"), and 1.42 each ain't bad.

Now, here's my question(s):
1) Should I group them all together? Or split this family of finials up?
2) Should I spray paint them or leave 'em as is?

Can't wait to hear what you gals think! Now go visit Miss Rhoda for lots of other great Thrifty Finds for her Thrifty Treasures Mondays!

great birdcage! I really like the finials. Maybe spray painted in colors to match your house. I think I would group them if not all right together, then all in close proximity in one room. They look really cool together. Kelly

Wow, you found some super finds!! I so need to go yard selling with you. I love the finials and I think I would group them together. I like the color that they are right now, but I'm sure that would look great painted too. Can't wait to see where you put them in your house. Love the birdhouse too.

That bird cage is lovely! I love the finials. I would spread them all over in groups of three. Maybe paint a few white but I like the wood too.

Great finds, love that birdcage! And those finials are really neat too. They look like wood. I think I'd keep them all together in one spot, like on a shelf or something. White painted would work too, depending where you put them.

I would split them into two groups and leave them wood. But only if that matches the decor around it!

Okay I agree with Rhoda. I would keep the finials the rich wood tone. They would look good with your other rich tones in great room. I love switching out my decor groups, the group of seven would look great staying together on top of enter. cntr. I am thinking the birdcage would be cute in one of the girls bedrooms spray painted white. I would love to go yard selling with ya. I miss you!!

You did get some good deals. I really like the birdcage and finials and great prices. I would group them - probabley in 2 groups - maybe even add a candle stick to one of the groups. I would stagger the heights and be sure the groupings are in odd numbers. I would decide where I was going to use them and then decide if they should be painted or not and in what color. You did good.

Great finds, I want to go with you sometime, I never find cool things like this when I go! I would paint all different colors and distress them to see the wood underneath and leave them as a group! have fun!
